A Denver man who continued to solicitcontributions for the suspended and defunctAssociation for Police & Sheriffs has beenbanned from soliciting charitable donations inColorado, the state attorney general announcedFriday.Gary Maes, 50, has also been barred fromoperating, forming, founding or establishing anycharity in Colorado, according to AttorneyGeneral John Suthers.Maes does business as "Appointed ProfessionalServices," at 494 Sheridan Blvd. in Denver.According to a complaint filed by Suthers, theAssociation of Police & Sheriffs was a Californiabasedcharity, initially registered with theColorado secretary of state's office.
